In an electrifying Premier League match at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday night, Arsenal edged Chelsea 1-0. Due to his exclusion from the 20-man team, Cole Palmer played no part for the Blues against the Gunners on Sunday.

In a fiercely contested London derby against the Blues, Mikel Merino’s well-timed header in the first half sealed the win for Arsenal.
Palmer has twice netted in his last three against Arsenal, demonstrating his current form against the Gunners. Palmer, having fought illness during the week, then picked up what was thought to be hamstring pain in training.

Palmer’s absence was no small matter, Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca confirmed before Sunday’s game. The player suffered a minor injury during Saturday’s light training session, the 45-year-old manager said to SkySport in the Daily Mail. The Blues manager also stated that he hoped the midfielder will return after the international break and that the issue was not thought to be serious. Even though the Chelsea manager said they would keep monitoring the issue, there was general consensus in the camp that Palmer would be ready once the break had elapsed.
