In an attempt to earn a spot in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, Kenya will play Gambia tonight. Kenya defied the odds and pulled off a huge surprise by making it to their first-ever World Cup event, and new head coach Benni McCarthy was optimistic about it.

Both teams will be looking to play their fifth match in their quest to overthrow Gabon and Ivory Coast in Group F. Gabon has the second spot with nine points, and the current African champions are at the top with ten. Kenya and Gambia follow with five and three points, respectively, while Burundi has seven. The tournament that will be staged throughout the United States, Mexico, and Canada will only be easily accessible to the group leaders.

The Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Ivory Coast will host the match on Thursday, 20th March. At 10 PM EAT, the match will commence. There is no CAF-accredited stadium in the Gambia, hence the match is being played in the Ivory Coast. In preparation for the match against Kenya and Ivory Coast, Gambia, under former Gor Mahia coach Jonathan McKinstry, selected a strong squad. Brighton & Hove Albion striker Yankuba Minteh is the club’s star player. With three Premier League goals and two assists this season, Minteh will be counted upon upfront to weave magic.
