Youths have been warned by Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa not to go to a rally in Uhuru Park that Inject party leader Morara Kebaso has scheduled.
On Wednesday, March 19, Barasa posted on social media, accusing Morara of fabricating information regarding his Jobless Rally Day event on Monday, March 24.
Barasa had claimed that Morara was paid by former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and that Morara would make money from the event based on how many people showed up.
Additionally, he asserted that Morara would profit more from larger crowds at Uhuru Park. Barasa warned young people to exercise caution, claiming that Morara was exploiting their difficulties for his own benefit.
Baraka asserted that Morara encourages young people to assemble at Uhuru Park on Monday, March 24 for Jobless Rally Day, although he has been given a job by Wamunyoro and Gachagua. The more people you bring, the more he earns. Stay alert, everyone! Morara is active.
Morara, on Tuesday, urged young individuals to converge at Uhuru Park on March 24 for the Jobless Rally Day to demand employment and improved living conditions.
In a video posted on his X account, he discussed the difficulties faced by young individuals due to unemployment, mentioning that many find it hard to meet basic needs because they lack jobs.
He announced that the rally would kick off at 9:00 am in Nairobi and called upon all jobless youths to partake in showing the government the urgency of the situation.
Consistently we have highlighted that the youth of Kenya have no jobs, they cannot sustain themselves, they are unable to survive, and they cannot even consider marriage. If you are young and unemployed, you are a jobless youth.
For the Jobless Youth, we are launching a movement to campaign for youth employment. On March 24, we will gather at Uhuru Park for the nationwide Jobless Rally. If you can attend, join us at 9:00 am,” Morara declared.
In a different post, Morara mentioned that the INJECT party is not established on tribal divisions as a foundation for political change, emphasizing its wish to collaborate with other leaders and political parties if their values are in agreement with his.”The INJECT Party has had a very difficult time continuing to associate with leaders who act in a tribal manner. As a basis for political transformation, our party is not built on tribal affiliations. If their principles align with ours, we would like to work with other leaders and political parties,” he said. However, he did not address the accusations made against him by Barasa.
